Breaking Free From Fear of Death

I was in my doctor's office for a general checkup this week and before she came in I was looking at the cancer screening posters where the posters were advertising the importance of cancer screening at a certain age.

As I was waiting for the doctor, I started thinking about the fact that I no longer feared getting cancer or even death. This was a big realization for me since I used to be afraid of anything that had to do with the possibility of death. My thought process has totally changed after my experiences in meditation and researching consciousness the last couple years. It had me wondering how different reality could be on our planet if people were not so fearful and anxious all of the time.

One of the keys to my transformation was reading hundreds of accounts of near death experiences. There are so many near death experiences, some verified and have evidential information. All these NDEs are so consistent and the messages are the same from the spirit realm. People always come back from their NDE saying that it's all about the love and learning. I definitely recommend taking a look at my list of books on NDEs or check out some of the podcast channels dedicated to people telling their stories.

Another crucial point in my research was understanding how life after death is scientifically possible. I will never pretend to be a scientist but books like The Science of Channeling by Helane Wahbeh (see blog post here) and Proof of Spiritual Phenomena by Mona Sobhani (see blog post here) are very helpful in explaining the science behind mediumship, energy healing, and remote viewing. Also, listening to analytical people like Dr. Eben Alexander and Suzanne Giesemann explain spirituality in a very logical way was life changing for me.

Another key to getting over my fears was understanding the soul plan and that everything actually does happen for a reason. It's such a cliche but it is absolutely true. I learned this from reading many books and listening to mediums channel about soul contracts and the spiritual purposes behind challenges. Robert Schwartz's book, Your Soul's Plan is great for understanding this concept. In the blog post about The Soul Plan, I share a quote from Emmanuel’s Book III that says, “There is nothing that can happen to you which your soul has not already endorsed”. This was a profound insight for me that the soul plans a life and chooses all the challenges we experience.

What I've also realized is that if a soul wants to experience a challenge like cancer, a car accident, or the death of a loved one, this is out of our control. The soul chooses these experiences for the learning and evolution. It was actually comforting for me to know that life plays out exactly as it should even when it seems extremely challenging and painful. This is why "miracles" happen for some people and not others. Angels or the spirit realm can and will involve themselves if needed. For example, if someone is about to get into a car accident but the soul does not want to experience that accident, an angel can actually move a car. It sounds crazy but this happens (see the book Loved By The Light by John Audette). This tells me that whatever does happen to us, is an experience that the soul wants to undergo.

Cancer is very interesting because it can be an experience the soul wants to undergo for the learning involved. For example cancer can be a trigger for a spiritual awakening, basically a pause to look at life in a deeper, more meaningful way. Cancer can also create the learning experience for other souls that are involved in the caregiving of those with cancer. There are so many learnings that souls take away from cancer. I often wonder if it would be better if humanity focused on what we can learn from disease, rather than "fighting disease". Of course, as humanity evolves and grows as a species we will become better at eradicating disease from the planet. This will take time obviously but someday disease will be less frequent as our focus on health and planet improves with evolution.

Cancer can also be a communication from the soul to the human self to convey a need for emotional healing or a lifestyle change. For example, breast cancer can be caused energetically by long term grief or taking care of others more than one's self. You can see how something like long term grief can create a build-up of low frequency energy around the heart chakra. So getting breast cancer could be the higher self telling the human to work through the grief and clear that energy or to focus on loving oneself more. Take a look at my blog post on Energy Healing for more on this. Feelings, emotions, and pains are all communications within our body that we should listen to, they all mean something. I believe we should be using modern medicine and energy healing in combination.

Another key to getting over fear of death was learning about, or perhaps a better word is remembering, the spirit realm. I would say that this came from a combination of reading books like The Luminous Landscape of the Afterlife and meditating. Some of the details of the books had me visualizing the spirit realm and thinking, "Yes I remember this". I also think that the channeling sessions with Stephanie really blew my mind and helped me remember my spirit guide team during these sessions. That first session where my spirit guide, Socrates was channeled (see the spirit guides blog post) and said the following quote was important, "Can you trust that there is an interconnectivity of all things and if it is so that you can easily say yes I trust all of that then my next question to you would be then let’s teach it, then let’s speak of it, then let's live into it. Because not for me, not for my sake, but for you, for your sake, because it’s what your soul asked for. It asked for me to remind you of what you knew before you forgot, before you agreed to forget and so here I am doing that".

Another key was meeting with mediums and learning about my past lives. I realize this isn't "proof" of an afterlife but you have to understand that multiple mediums would tell me very similar information and the information was unusual as you can tell from my blog post on my Galactic Past Lives. The mediums would often tell me how I died in my many lifetimes. For some reason, realizing that I've died thousands of times and knowing that I'm still here is oddly comforting. Saying that makes me laugh actually because it's so facetious. I've died every which way in my past lives...I was killed in jail during the downfall of Egypt, drowned in Atlantis, poisoned by my adversaries in one, my whole planet was destroyed in another, and then of course I had multiple lives where I died in old age...but I'm still here! It actually makes me laugh at all the ways I have died, it's like a bad movie or something. You can see that I've read and talked so much about death and dying that it truly doesn't bother me. There's no mystery to it, I get it now.

The significant impact of no longer being afraid to die means that I'm not afraid to get a disease, get older, or really ....afraid of anything. I feel so confident now that these incarnations we live are really just for the experience and learning, and death really is okay. Of anything, dying is truly a beautiful experience. What does it mean to not live in fear and to not be afraid to die? Freedom. Yes, the feeling is like taking the chains off. This is all available to everyone. No one needs to fear death.

Allow me to share a quote from Thoth's Emerald Tablets: "For fear is a bondage, a fetter that binds the darkness to men." Essentially, fear of death just holds humanity back from living life to the fullest. We should try to enjoy life on this planet and learn as much as we can. Then we go back to the spirit realm, enjoy all the beauty there, see our soul family, do our training, and plan another incarnation when we are ready. It's a natural cycle of evolution.
