We've all read the stories about Jesus healing with his hands. He said that we could do it too. So can humans heal ourselves and others with our hands?
Dr. Gary Schwartz is a Professor and the Director of the Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health (LACH) at the University of Arizona. He holds a doctorate from Harvard University and previously served at Yale University. In his book, The Energy Healing Experiments he explains that we are all transmitters and receivers of fields of energy and information. He walks through the experiments they performed at University of Arizona and the results that prove that humans all have energy fields. I would say it's a book for someone that likes science and is looking for evidence that humans have energetic fields. His final conclusion is the following, "Since we all have energy, and hands, we all have the inherent natural power to be energy healers. We all have the possibility of learning how to harness this power for our own healing, the healing of our loved ones and friends, and even the healing of the planet." In the book, Gary Schwartz also shares some of the energy healing miracles that he personally witnessed.
Below is a post from Suzanne Giesemann's Daily Way message that she channels from her guides, it went out to facebook yesterday:
"You are all healers. How can this be so? For you do not exist in a vacuum. You exist because of the flow of Life Force which unites you all. As expressions of this Limitless Force which you may know as Consciousness, you can use this Power to direct healing energy to and through any other being in need. You do not create the healing energy, but you can indeed direct it with will as it serves the greater good. And what need could be greater than bringing more healing and love to your world? Heal, why don’t you? You are so very loved."
When I was first researching energy and mediumship, I came upon Marie Manuchehri. She was a nurse that started to see and hear spirits while working in the hospital. She then continued her journey into mediumship and eventually started to focus more on energy healing. I listened to her podcast and took her online energy healing classes on the Shift Network. I really liked her direct way of communicating. She mentioned Barbara Brennan quite a bit so I ended up buying Barbara Brennan's books. Brennan was a NASA physicist until she started to have spiritual experiences and found her path into energy medicine. She's clearly very intelligent and her book, Hands of Light, reads like a textbook. It took me months to read and understand it. She explains in the book, "It is essential that we deal with the deeper meaning of our illnesses. We need to ask, what does this illness mean to me? What can I learn from this illness?"
In Deborah King's book, Heal Yourself Heal the World, she says the following, "Today's medical system has splintered into specialty after specialty. Experts may be very proficient at addressing specific symptoms, usually with a major assist from the pharmaceutical industry, but they don't always look at the entire picture or address you as a whole person. They don't tend to explore the emotional, psychological, and spiritual components that can contribute to or even cause your problems. That's where energy medicine comes in." It's important to know that all the healers I mention in this blog post...Marie Manuchehri, Barbara Brennan, and Deborah King all advocate that we use both western medicine and energy healing. They encourage people to embrace the knowledge, wisdom, and skills of both sides.
After my research and experiences in the last three years, I've realized that nothing happens by accident or coincidence. We are all very intelligent Souls living in a very intelligent Universe. Below is my understanding as to why disease occurs based on the books I read and classes I took. This blog post will discuss point 2 below:
The Soul wants to experience the disease for specific lessons. The lessons are learned by the person with the disease and those around the person that are affected. Disease occurs with children for this reason. See my blog post called the Soul Plan.
Emotions, alcohol, and drugs can cause issues with our energy field (auric field) and chakras (energy centers throughout the body). Sometimes our Higher Self is using disease to communicate that we need to make changes.
Barbara Brennan could see the energy component to our body, she called it the Human Energy Field, others call this the auric field. There are seven layers to the auric field which correspond to the seven chakras. In the book, Hands of Light there are pictures of each auric field and how the auric fields look based on our emotions. Chakras are spinning energy centers that control the flow of energy throughout our body. Brennan explains that disease can be caused by the imbalance or blocking of energy in the chakras and auric field. She provides quite a bit of detail in her book of how negative emotions, drugs, and alcohol can affect us.
Below are the chakras and the emotions that are associated with the chakras. If these emotions become blocked or negative, then that's when we see issues with the physical components. Below is what we learned in my energy healing classes and what is shared in energy healing books.
1st chakra is called the Root chakra located at the base of the spine
The emotions associated with this chakra are being nurtured and loved by community. This chakra is focused on survival. If we are living in too much fear then it will affect this chakra.
The root chakra governs bones and blood.
2nd chakra is called the sacral chakra located below the naval
The emotion associated with this chakra is joy and happiness in career, relationships, wealth, friends, and creativity. The emotion of shame can affect this chakra.
The sacral chakra governs reproductive organs, gonads, kidneys, lower back, and appendix.
3rd chakra is called the solar plexus chakra located in the upper abdomen
The emotion associated with this chakra is self-love, personal power, and self-esteem.
The solar plexus governs the intestinal tract, gut, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, immune system, hormones, and lymph nodes . An example of a physical issue that can be associated with being self-critical is IBS. On the other hand self love contributes to a healthy immune system.
4th chakra is called the heart chakra located in the center of the chest
The emotion associated with this chakra is universal love, self-love, and compassion.
The heart chakra governs the breast tissue. For example when someone has a hard breakup they will close their heart chakra. Long term grief, worrying a lot, and always putting other people first before oneself can impact the heart chakra.
5th chakra is called the throat chakra located in the throat area
This chakra is all about communication, expression, and speaking one's truth. This is interesting though because one's truth comes from intuition, not the left brain. In order to figure out your truth you need to calm the left brain through meditation and listen to your intuition.
The throat chakra governs the thyroid, mouth, teeth, gums. Not speaking ones truth, speaking negatively or with judgement can cause issues with the thyroid.
6th chakra is called the 3rd eye chakra located between the eyebrows
The emotions associated with this chakra is feeling intuition and insight.
This chakra governs the brain and central nervous system. Issues can occur with this chakra if we aren't following our intuition. For example being in a job, living in a location, or being in a relationship that doesn't feel right intuitively.
7th chakra is called the crown chakra located at the top of the head
The emotion associated with this chakra is feeling in alignment with your spirituality
This chakra governs skin and hair. If someone is out of alignment with their spiritual beliefs then it can show up as hair loss or skin issues.
In regards to healing, self-care is essential which means releasing belief systems and emotions that aren't in the highest good and taking care of ourselves physically and emotionally. The negative emotions of fear, shame, guilt, anxiety, stress, and long-term grief and anger are emotions that can cause issues with our energy system and if not realized soon enough turn into disease. Barbara Brennan, Deborah King, and Marie Manuchehri all explain the importance of self-love. Self-love is something that is not emphasized or discussed enough in the US. It's important for everyone, including children, to learn to love themselves unconditionally. Below are the recommendations in their books for self-care:
Be kind to ourselves and learn to love ourselves unconditionally
Clear belief systems and emotions that aren't in our highest good
Meditation
Quit drugs and alcohol - drugs and alcohol are often used to avoid emotions which cause blocks in our energy
Use our intuition more and our left brain less - The left brain should be used more for survival and day to day tasks. How to use our intuition? Be present more in our body, meditate, and walk in nature.
Energy healers use different processes for healing but a key component is using unconditional love and the universal energy field for healing. The universal energy field is the energy all around us on the Earth and Universe. It's the field that interconnects all living things. Most energy healers also ask help from the Spirit Realm, specifically Archangels or Jesus to assist with healings. Healers work on redirecting energy around the body and clearing any energy that is not in the greatest good of the recipient. Healers will also use different tools like crystals, sound vibration, and tuning forks. I believe Sound Therapy will be used more in the future and will hopefully reduce the use of prescription drugs. See my blog post on Sound Therapy for more detail.
There are many different energy healing modalities. Barbara Brennan's school of healing is a 4 year program so it's quite extensive. I took a weekend Reiki class and received a Reiki 1 certification for my own research and curiosity. The Reiki 1 class was focused on understanding the basics of energy, the auric field, and chakras. Most states don't allow energy healers to provide any diagnosis information to people. If an energy healer does notice something off in someone's energy then they will tell the person to reach out to a physician due to the restrictions by the state. Energy healing can also be used on pets and our planet. We can send healing energy and love to anyone.
Below are books which demonstrate the power that emotions, thoughts and words can have:
Dr. Masaru Emoto, wrote a book that became a New York Times best-seller, “The Hidden Messages in Water.” Dr. Emoto is known for studying water crystals. Water crystal formations occur during the process of water turning into ice and they appear to look like a snowflake when examined under a microscope. During this process, Dr. Emoto tested how the water crystals were formed based on different types of music, for example when exposed to Mozart they turned out beautiful and when they were exposed to heavy metal they turned out distorted. Then they tested how words affected the water. The first water samples were exposed to a person telling the water, “Thank you.” The results were beautiful crystals. Other samples were exposed to somebody angrily telling the water, “You fool!” or “You make me sick!” The results were distorted crystal formations that participants described as unhealthy. The experiment concluded that words have power over how water crystals form. Dr. Emoto theorizes that music, sound and our words have a vibrational frequency that can subtly influence the formation of water crystals. When I researched this information, google said that Emoto's book was pseudoscience and that scientists criticized Emoto for his lack of scientific methodology. I had to dig deeper but then I found that IONS tested the same hypothesis but used scientific methodology and the results concluded that Emoto's hypothesis was correct. (See article here: https://noetic.org/blog/three-remarkable-studies-on-the-science-of-intention/). What I conclude from this information is that how we speak to ourselves and others has an impact, I think it's a much bigger impact than we realize.
Deborah King is a spiritual teacher and best selling author. She explains in her books that she was a workaholic, fresh out of law school. She says she was an athlete, drawn to extreme sports and at times modeling, which meant she had to maintain a size 2. Her life was fueled by alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, and caffeine. She was forever changed when she found out she had cervical cancer. At the time, the only medical options available were grim pointing to radical surgery. Her doctors said she had a couple months to decide. She decided to find a 12-step program, quit drinking, and cleaned up her act. This also led to her facing the emotions she had been burying her whole life, ever since she was sexually abused by a family member during her childhood. She started meditating and journaling which allowed her to open up to the pain she had been bottling up so long. She also explored acupuncture and massage during this time. The massage therapist recommended that she see an energy healer. When she met with the energy healer she felt a sense of peace as though she had healed the emotional turmoil and her spirit. By the third session, she says she felt a major shift in her body and sensed healing. When she returned to her doctor for tests, she was informed that she had undergone a "spontaneous remission". This led her down the path to studying and training with shamans, sages, and healers and becoming the energy healer and spiritual teacher she is today. If curious, she has a lot of interesting information on her website: https://deborahking.com/topics/energy-healing-modalities/?v=0b3b97fa6688
In Anita Moorjani's book, Dying To Be Me, she explains in her book that the doctors tell her she has lymphoma which is a cancer of the lymphatic system. Prior to her cancer, her best friend and her husband's brother-in-law both die of cancer. She explains that she was drowning in the fear of death prior to her cancer diagnosis and after she's diagnosed. She ends up having a near death experience in a hospital bed after fighting her cancer for four years. During her near death experience, she sees and understands everything from a whole new perspective, she says the following, "I also understood that the cancer was not some punishment for anything I'd done wrong, nor was I experiencing negative karma as a result of any of my actions, as I'd previously believed. It was as though every moment held infinite possibilities, and where I was at at that point in time was a culmination of every decision, every choice, and every thought of my entire life. My many fears and my great power had manifested as this disease." Anita realizes that her fear and her self-critical thoughts throughout her life are what caused her cancer. When she returns to her body from her near death experience, she miraculously heals within weeks. Doctors were never able to explain how or why she healed so quickly. Today Anita is a spiritual teacher and speaker. Here's her TedTalk summarizing her story: https://youtu.be/rhcJNJbRJ6U?si=E91Ykcz1WLkfspzy
To summarize, humans are much more powerful than we realize. We all have an energetic component to our body and we are all interconnected through energy. Our thoughts and emotions send energy to the Universe and can manifest in the physical. We may not see this manifestation right away but we see it with time. I bet if you look back at your life, you can see how you manifested certain things. It's important that we understand the power of our words and emotions so that we remember to focus on self-love and positive intentions.
