What's Your Purpose?

When I was researching consciousness it became clear that the overall purpose to life is to evolve, grow, and learn through reincarnation. The soul resides in the spirit realm and chooses to incarnate a percentage of its energy into a body, whether that body is a physical body on Earth or a different body on another planet.

Before the soul incarnates, the soul will create a high level blueprint for the life. The soul will choose its parents, location to be born, time period, lessons, purpose, and exit points (options for when and how death occurs) and then as humans we have free will to create our life in between these high level points. As part of the soul plan, there are purposes for the incarnation.

So, how can we figure out our purpose? We have multiple purposes for an incarnation for example to be in service of humanity, to love and be loved, to do some karmic clean-up, and to share our gifts. Let's get into this a bit.

There are many humans that are incarnated right now to be in service of humanity. Humanity is going through a very big and important transformation in the next 50 years or so. People are waking up to our reality and humanity is supposed to go through a big evolutionary process called ascension. Many souls chose to incarnate to help humanity grow and evolve. Below are examples of souls that are incarnated to be of service:

• To care for children, the elderly, or for people medically. There are many people that give so much of themselves day in and day out to help others. These are the passionate teachers that spend long days with our children and then work on their lesson plans, the gentle humans that care for the elderly, and the nurses that work around the clock helping people in a hospital. These souls are the caregivers and the compassionate ones. We need these souls on our planet, especially now.

  
  

• To heal ancestral trauma: Ancestral trauma occurs when negative life experiences causes someone to pass down their emotional wounds onto their children and grandchildren. For example if a grandparent was abused by their parents, they may have been too physical with their children, and that parent would have been too physical with their children, so on and so on. Then an evolved soul will incarnate to heal this trauma passed down through the family. Instead of continuing the cycle of abuse, they will heal themselves and not pass on the abuse. There are many people on the planet right now doing this type of healing work so they don't pass on negative emotions like anger.

• To discuss topics around healing the planet and the animals on the planet. Climate change caused by fossil fuels and deforestation is seriously affecting our planet. Many souls are incarnated right now to help heal the planet, support the animals, and talk about renewable energy options. They are here to build the New Earth.

• To discuss spirituality and galactic contact in order to wake people up. Humanity is in a phase called the Great Awakening where people are waking up to their reality and to the energetic universe. There are a lot of people incarnated right now to focus on spiritual topics like near death experiences, out-of-body experiences, energy healing, sound healing, mediumship, and galactic contact. It's time for people to wake up from their slumber and realize that this is real.

Another purpose for an incarnation is to balance karma. Humans have really confused the word karma so let me provide my definition. Karma is balancing energy for the soul. For example my son was my mother in a past life and in that life he took care of me so now I'm taking care of him in my current life. This is what I mean by karmic balancing. The soul wants to balance energy. When someone provides us a service in one life, we may incarnate to balance that by providing the service back. Karma doesn't necessarily involve only two people, it's more about universal energy. So if I caused pain in a past life, I will incarnate to learn lessons about pain to balance my energy. This is really about the soul's growth and evolution.

A very important purpose we have is to share our gifts with other humans. As souls, we all have unique gifts and skills. We hone these gifts and skills through many lifetimes. When we incarnate, we can use those gifts to follow our passions and help others. What are your gifts? You can start to figure this out as you follow your passions and excitement. When you are excited about something, that is a sign from your higher self. This is how our soul (or higher self) communicates with us. Are you passionate about healthy eating? Art? Children's Education? Animals? The planet? Music? Technology? Mental health and wellness? When you follow your excitement, your higher self will lead you on the right path. If your passion wanes then that means you need to pivot to something else. It really helps to meditate, walk in nature, and quiet the mind to understand your passion, skills, and gifts. I'm not saying to quit your job, you can start small outside of work and let it build.

This is what happened for me. When I was laid off from my job, I started researching near death experiences and I just kept moving forward. It was an insatiable curiosity. I then started taking online mediumship and energy healing classes, and it all sort of snowballed until I was writing a blog, and last year I completed my first book. All of this was unexpected for me but maybe that's how it's supposed to work. Sometimes our life can go in unexpected directions but when we are excited it doesn't matter. It takes us someplace new and wondrous.

The best way to start the process is to be curious, open, and start asking questions about your purpose. Your guides and higher self will respond to that openness and start guiding you.
