For this July 4th I was told...let's create something better

On July 4th, many American's celebrate by getting together with family, grilling out, and having fun. I think that's great and I'm all for it. Humans need more fun, happiness, and laughter in our lives.

However, I kept getting a nagging feeling the last couple days from my intuition, soul, higher self, spirit guides, God...whatever words you feel comfortable with. I was getting a feeling within that said, "We can do better" and "We can create something better."

There's a lot happening in the US that I'm not particularly excited about, below are to name a few:

  • The US co-hosted Iran at the World Cup while we are also at war with Iran. This is the first time that's happened. There is no doubt that the US is causing a lot of pain and destruction right now. Are we acting out of the protection of peace and love? I'm not sure. Does anyone know for sure? Perhaps that's the real issue, we don't trust our leaders to act out of peace and love.

  • The US Supreme Court just ruled in favor of Bayer (Monsanto) saying that people can't sue Bayer/Monsanto when they get cancer from the cancer-causing product called RoundUp. Interestingly, Bayer is known as a company that also creates treatments for cancer. So their product causes cancer and they provide treatments for cancer.

  • In May 2026, the EPA proposed rescinding the 2024 regulations that set nationwide drinking water standards for four specific PFAS chemicals (GenX, PFNA, PFBS, and PFHxS), which are toxic forever chemicals that lead to cancer.

  • There are currently 1500 new data centers in various stages of development, specifically in Texas, Virginia, Georgia, and Ohio. Data centers require massive amounts of water and energy and create pollution. This is causing more fossil fuel plants to go up which will cause more global warming and pollution. For example, a gas plant is proposed to be built next to a school in a nearby suburb to me in Ohio. Gas plants cause respiratory illness.

I know, it's pretty dark. You aren't alone if you are concerned about these bullet points I mentioned above. Don't worry, I won't leave you here though. What I would say is that we (as a human collective) can do better. We can create something better. I'm not asking anyone to get up and go do something. I realize these issues can feel really overwhelming. What I'm asking people to do is imagine something better. My guides like to say that we are the creators. Our intentions and thoughts matter. We as a human species can choose something better.

Below is what we can choose:

Let's request Universal Basic Income (UBI) for all humans so that everyone has basic needs met including food, clean water, and shelter so that people can follow their purpose and passion.

Let's spend money on beautiful schools for all children instead of spending billions of dollars on war and weapons.

Let's build beautiful communities that support local gardens and community farming.

Let's get off the archaic dirty fossil fuels and totally transition to renewable clean energy

Let's stop using pesticides and tilling, and use regenerative agriculture in order to cool the planet and create healthier clean food for everyone.

These are the things that the Earth is supposed to be about. We've focused too much on technology, finance, and business and gotten away from the beauty of our own planet and who we are as a species. Sure, it's going to take time for these things to develop but we need to take the first step which is to envision something better. We need to stop limiting ourselves. There are a lot of humans on this planet and the majority are benevolent. We are a very resilient species and when we come together we can create great things.

I realize that July 4th is traditionally about America's independence; however, as we evolve as a species, we will be thinking in terms of Oneness. That we are all One and there is truly no separation between us. I think sometimes nationalism can get in the way of that. Nationalism can cause us to think in terms of "them" vs "us" and play the comparison game. Separation is indeed the illusion and what we find as we evolve to greater levels of consciousness is that we are all part of one web of life and we are all interconnected.

This post is a hopeful one, and one of dreams. On July 4th, let's think about what we can create instead of what's behind us. Let's think about the future of the human species and how we can create something better.
