Fear

I've heard that future humans will call this time period, the age of fear. At some point humans became afraid of their own shadow. I was even afraid to meditate....just sitting quietly by myself scared me. I started to figure out where all my fear was coming from: movies, TV shows, the news, my parents’ fears, my grandparents' fears, religious dogma, and who knows if I was carrying over fear from past lives. I'll share an important line from the quote below: "To realize that fear is illusion is the beginning of freedom".
What I started to do was every time I had a fearful or anxious thought, I focused on something I was grateful for. Over time I realized that the fear I was feeling was not actually real (FEAR=False Evidence Appearing Real). I also think that when people are in fear, it's usually from the unknown. I was afraid of meditation, mediumship, and channeling due to religious dogma, TV, and movies. However, when I actually dug into it myself, I found nothing but love. I meditated everyday to calm my monkey brain, and I asked my spirit guides and the angels to help me release my fears. After doing these things daily for maybe a couple months I saw changes. I am much calmer and happier today than I ever was throughout my life.
I don't blame humanity, my parents, and my grandparents for living in fear and anxiety. Earth is a tough planet and humanity has been through a lot. Wars, great depression, gender inequality, racism...gosh we could go on for a while. All the fear has caused us to focus on survival. However I wonder...is humanity evolved enough to release our fears? Are we evolved enough to focus on love, joy and compassion?
Humans have an energetic component to our bodies, thus we are able to manifest. The principle of manifestation is the law of attraction. Essentially like attracts like which means, love attracts love and fear attracts fear. When a fearful thought came in, I redirected and focused on gratitude. If the fearful thought continued, I dug into it and figured it out through research and meditation. Thoughts and speech carry powerful energy throughout the universe so I started to be careful with my thoughts, words and how I spoke. See my detailed blog post on Energy Healing for more on this.
Below are two quotes on fear from very wise books:
“Fear is illusion. That should be on the first page of every dictionary. Fear is illusion no matter how sensibly it is defined, how historically it is verified. There is nothing that can happen to you which your soul has not already endorsed. Nothing can harm You. You are eternal. No matter what fear tells you, it is never true. Fear is blind and deaf. It sees only its own expectation. To realize that fear is illusion is the beginning of freedom.” -Emmanuel’s Book III by Pat Rodegast
"Here, as your population stands within its energy, the true division is only between love and fear. This is the basis of all division among living entities. For when one stands in love, there is no division, and when one stands in fear, there is nothing but division. It is within each individual to choose, and there is no wrong choice, as fear is necessary as love in creating change. Stay awake to your spiritual growth, and continue on with loving compassion for those who stand in fear. They are not to be pitied or conquered, but rather respected for their own views and what they are reflecting back to you about your own fears. As you begin to heal these fears within yourself, you will begin to see the healing in your culture." - Mike Dooley's book, Channeled Messages from Deep Space
So to summarize, I may feel fear once in a while because this is part of the human experience but I’ll do my best to acknowledge it and let it pass through me. I'll never let fear prevent me from exploring the mysteries of the universe.
