Scientists and Doctors that have Spiritual Experiences

Throughout my own journey, I have had enough spiritual experiences where I no longer doubt that there is an energetic realm and much more going on then meets the eye. However, I still like to read books and listen to scientists and doctors that discuss their own spiritual experiences and how they went from atheist scientist to spiritual believer.

I was listening to a podcast episode today where Dr. Mayim Bialik was interviewing a fellow neuroscientist named Dr. Woollacott. Dr Woollacott explains in the beginning of the episode that she was an atheist that only believed in materialist science. She says that she was at a point in her life where she felt dissatisfied with something but she wasn't quite sure what that was. She had the successful boyfriend and a good career but something was still not right. She was convinced by her sister to go to a meditation retreat. During this retreat the spiritual teacher touched her head and she immediately felt her heart expand and a love she had never felt before. She couldn't explain this strange experience using her scientific mind.

She says that she couldn't contain her curiosity and decided to dive into researching telepathy, telekinesis, terminal lucidity, near death experiences, and evidential mediumship. She found the scientific research she was searching for and explains her findings with Dr. Bialik. For example she says she researched terminal lucidity which is a phenomena where someone is at the end of life and for a short time they become lucid and their old self again. Doctors can't explain it using materialist science but Dr. Woollacott says this makes sense since the brain actually filters out much of the energetic universe. Essentially, as we are dying and our brain is turning off, we become coherent. This is the same reason why people meditate, to quiet the mind in order to gain access to higher knowledge.

Dr. Woollacott also talks about telekinesis and says that it is supported by research. Telekinesis is the ability to move objects with the mind. She suggests reading neuroscientist, Julia Mossbridge's research on it. This conversation was really interesting and I definitely recommend it to someone that likes to listen to a more grounded perspective on spirituality. Another interesting scientist that has had spiritual experiences is Thomas Campbell. He wrote a trilogy about his experiences called, My Big Toe (Theory of Everything). Campbell was a physicist when he started meditating in order to help with his challenging school work and his job. What he quickly realized was that meditation was helping him solve complex problems with his work. At some point he volunteered to work with Robert Monroe. At that time Robert Monroe was a wealthy business man having out-of-body experiences but he didn't understand why. An out-of-body experience occurs when a person either intentionally or unintentionally leaves their physical body and finds themselves in an energy body.

Monroe's first out-of-body experience was unintentional during sleep but he continued to experiment and found he could repeat it. Monroe wanted scientists to help him understand consciousness, and how he was able to leave his physical body. Monroe taught Campbell and Campbell's colleague how to have out-of-body experiences and they ended up scientifically investigating this phenomenon together. My Big Toe (Theory Of Everything) is referring to Campbell's scientific theories as to how the energetic universe works. Campbell's book uses scientific terminology so it will attract a reader with an analytical mind that is curious how energetic realms and consciousness could be possible.

Since more and more scientists are curious about psychic phenomena and consciousness, we may see the invention of more instruments to test these abilities. Historically, money has not been given to this area of scientific research but if more and more scientists are comfortable discussing these topics and want to research them, I would think more money will be requested for this type of research. I'm actually reading Dr Joe Dispenza's book, Becoming Supernatural and it provides quite a bit of reference to scientific evidence in support of meditation and affirmations. In the book he talks about the equipment he's using to measure the changes in the brain before and after meditation.

SoulPhone is a good example where scientists are developing technology for consciousness and spirituality. SoulPhone is a project where a group of prominent scientists and mediums are creating technology to communicate with spirits. This project is led by Dr. Gary Schwartz and my understanding is that they have working technology. Currently they are finishing a book that describes the technology and working on devices that can be distributed to the greater population. My understanding is that they plan to provide demonstrations and release their book as the first step. Spirits are energy so it makes sense that we could build the technology to communicate with them. If you review their research, it is logical that humanity could do this: https://www.soulphone.org/

It seems to me that more and more scientists and doctors are researching the possibility of spiritual concepts and psychic abilities. What I've noticed is that these people were just naturally open and curious or they themselves have had a spiritual experience that they couldn't explain. What these scientists and doctors find are the scientific studies that support remote viewing, mediumship, and telepathy. Yep those studies are out there, you just have to dig. Then they realize that quantum physics also actually supports concepts around an energetic universe and dimensions. Some scientists and doctors even get a rude awakening through a near death experience. You can read Dr. Eben Alexander's book Proof of Heaven or Dr. Rajiv Parti's book Dying to Wake Up for more on that.

So my question is, as more scientists become curious and do their due diligence to research these topics, will science evolve and transform as well? I believe that scientists diving into psychic abilities and quantum physics is in alignment with humanity's evolution. It will also help us understand one of our biggest questions, how will humanity handle AI? As we all know, AI isn't the issue, it's the people behind the development of the AI that is the concern. I can say with full confidence that humanity wants our technology and understanding of spirituality to grow in alignment. Getting the science community on board to research psychic abilities and consciousness is extremely important to our society and I believe this is happening slowly but surely.

Below are a few books and authors I recommend if you are interested in understanding how science supports theories around psychic abilities and spirituality. These books are all written by scientists and doctors so they all provide a more scientific perspective.
